SAILING SOUTH.

MIGRANTS FROM NEAR EAST. EXPECT PLENTY OF WORK. By Telegraph Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December 12. 10 am.) LONDON, December 11. The Australian Press Association has been informed that when the Cephee leaves Port Said she will carry approximately 700 Jugo slavs, 250 Greeks and Macedonians, 150 Italians and 100 of other nationalities, mainly bound tor Melbourne and Sydney. They are mostly young men. apparently of the labouring type, alert and intelligent, and under the impression that there is plenty of work available in Australia. All have paid their own fares (2000 francs) and each has between £2O and £SO. The Cephee will carry emigrants to Australia in future and two other vessels will be similarly equipped. The Messageries Maritimes Company disclaims any knowledge of any organisation behind the migratory movement and states that the immigrants simply booked as individuals at the various shipping agencies.
