FIRST RADIO BEACON.
The first experimental wireless beacon to lje erected on the British coast has been installed by the -Marconi («»m----pany at Nash Point, between Swansea and Cardiff. It consists of a wireless transmitter, which automatically sends out its own call sign (G.K.D.) on a wave length of 1000 metres. Ships fitted with the marine direction-finder will thus be able to find their line, of direction to the beam from a distance of fifty miles. Experimental work with this beacon in the Bristol Channel has shown that it will he of great service.
