BOWLING TOURNEY.

I hr Wellington Bowling Centre last night earned a motion that a remit be sent to the Dominion Council suggesting that teams be invited from Canada. Australia and South Africa to visit New Zealand in 192."> with the object of commencing annual inter-Empire bowling tournaments. The mover stated that he had interviewed Sir Robert Stout and Jellicoe on the matter and they cordial!v approved of the suggestion. A man in Australia had offered to give a cup valued at £2.50 for a competition somewhat similar to the Davis Cup contest. The seconder of the motion, while not so optimistic ‘as the mover as to the success of the scheme, said he believed that it would be endorsed by the Dominion Council and even if it could not be realised this year, much good might come out of it.
