DELAYING MIDDLE AGE.

HOW TO DELAY THE COM IN O OF OLD AGE. No face creams or lotions? astringent or otherwise, will do it. Face-massage skilfully done (otherwise it is far worse than useless!) will certainly help to keep away wrinkles, but massage and lace creams alone will do very little. It is your thoughts that will age you or keep you young. Not your delightful ‘“company look or your radiantly happy look when you are pleased or are trying to please, but the thoughts you encourage when you are alone, the thoughts you take into the. subconscious when you go to sleep. Xf you iall asleep carrying all your burdens with you, you will not only awaken unrefreshed, but you will be older in appearance than you need be. This ageing process may be imperceptible now, but “many a mickle makes a mtickle,” and age-thoughts have a cumulative effect. We all have to lace middle ago, so we must try and face it bravely. Doirt bring it on sooner than you need do either by neglecting your skin or by sowing the wrong thought-seeds in the soil of your soul. If wo u;ant to triumph over the horrors of becoming middle-aged (and only women know how wo dread it!) we must take care both of the Within and the Without. We must be scrupulously well-groom-ed and study grace and charm, and we must learn to control our nerves and refrain from criticism and condemnation . We must study harmony, and crush down heartache, and ignore little ailments, and throw ourselves heart and soul into everything that is good and new and interesting. Above all, we must seek that deep serenity of mind that will enable us to retain an almost incredible youthfulness as compared to the state of mind and body of the woman who fights and rebels against middle age.
