A five-a-side Association football tournament. tlie first of its kind played locally, was played in the domain on Saturday under the auspices of the Ashburton County Football Association. Good games were witnessed. Results were as follow; First Round. Wakanui A J v. Baring Square No. 1 0 Baring Square No. 2 1£ v. Ashburton Wanderers «’ 1. Thistle (Timaru) defeated Methven by default. Rangers (Timaru) defeated Ashburton Wanderers A by default. Wakanui B won from Ashburton Wanderers B by default. Albion Rovers (Timaru) a bye. Second Round. Thistle ;i v. Albion Rovws 0 Rangers 2* v. Wakanui A 0. Baring Square No. 2 £ v. Wakanui B 0. Semi Final. Rangers defeated Thistle. Baring Square No. 2, a bye. Final. Rangers 3 beat Baring Square No 2 0 The Timaru team showed better combination and played a clean, fast game.
