CLARENCE BRIDGE.
EXPECTED TO REOPEN NEXT EASTER. (Special to the “ Star.”) BLENHEIM. September S. The overseer in charge of the Clarenee bridge works (Mr do Malmanche) expects the bridge to bo open for traffic again by next Easter. He is nowpreparing to start work on the. third and last pair of cylinders. The road between Blenheim and the Clarence river is in splendid order for motoring, and that portion of it running through the Awatere county reflects great credit on the council. A policy of taking off sharp corners and using the spoil to widen the road at the bends has been followed out with excellent results.
