■ IJ;SUa J monthly meeting ol the J Amalgamated Engineering Union Club j and institute was held in the Trades | Hall on Wednesday evening last. At the conclusion of the business a demonstration was given by Mr T. Bain on the automatic control of tram cars. Parts of the mechanism, with diagrams being shown. A hearty vote of thanks was given to Air Bain. Another lecture of interest to engineers is promised for next meeting.
