Lemons keep quite fresh if they are placed in a jar of cold water and the water is changed everv- day. Shabby Leather.—Leather that has become worn may be rubbed gently with a little warm milk, using a rag for the purpose, j*nd allowed to dry. But if the damage has gone further give the leather this treatment, after applying the warm milk: —Paint it with the white of an egg. applying two or three layers to the worn parts. Afterwards paint with dye, matching the colour of the leather as closely as possible.
