SIXTY YEARS MARRIED
WOOLSTON COUPLE CELEBRATE.
Sixty vears married. Probably the oldest' residents in Woolaton, Mr and Mrs Edmond Taylor, ot 4 Heathcote Street, will celebrate their diamond wedding next Thursday. 11l 1837. Mr Taylor was born at Simpleness budge. Addiston, Kent, and Elizabeth Harding was born at lie Sheppy, Kent, five years later. In 1864 they were married at Minster Church. Sheerness, by the Rev Mr Cox. Mr Tavlor was in the Navy for nine vears. He then took up gardening. 'He represented Surrey in firso grade cricket for nine years, and a bat for the highest score is still among his prized possessions- . In September. 1870, the ship Pun. ,iab. with Mr and Mrs Taylor and their family among the passengers, arrived at X.vttelton. but it was in quarantine till October 31. On landing the party came bv train, then walked across to the Heathcote Tiiver at Garlands, where they were conveyed across the river on tile ferry punted by Mr Garland. Since living at Woolaton, Air Tavlor lias been engaged for the greater part in dairying. He is a well known figure in Woolston. The oldest is 59 years of age and the youngest 37 years. There are 39 grand children, with ages ranging from 33 years to 6 years, and 9 great grand children, with ages ranging from 3 months to 11 years. Over 100 guests are expected to be present at the celehrations on Alay 22.
