The Orient liner Orvieto ran aground last night near the mouth of the Brisbane River. A passing steamer unsuccessfully attempted to tow her off. Two tugs have left to give assistance. Tlie position is not serious, and a further attempt will be made this morning.. The Orvieto was built at Belfast in 1909 by "Workman Clark and Co., Ltd. She is a twin screw steamer, 535.3 ft in length, 64ft in beam, and cl depth of 38.6 ft. Her owners. Orient Steam Navigation Company, have had her engaged on the Australian-Home run for years.
