PRINCE’S MEMORIES.

A VISIT TO WEMBLEY. LONDON, May 5. The Prince of Wales accompanied by Lord and Lady Mountbatten, paid a surprise visit to the Australian pavilion at Wembley, where he was received by the Minister of Trade and Industry for New South Wales, Mr Farrar, and escorted through the building. The Prince said he was not in a hurry, and said he wanted to have “ a good look at Australia, which would act as a tonic ” The party was delighted with the show, and particularly with the dioramas and photos. Standing before a picture of the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Prince said : “ That’s where I spent my birthday, and I remember the children formed the Prince of Wales’s feathers.” Inspecting a model of the Bolder mine, he said : “I have good cause to remember that, for my train overturned there.” A sheep station caught his fancy also, and he declared that the Si- Kilda Road was an absolute jov for motoring.
