“CERTAIN BLOOD STAINS”

WELLINGTON MURDER CHARGE. Pev. Pbess Association. WELLINGTON, May 14 Joseph Barnes, aged 31. of the. murder ot alter John YVhalls .was again before the Court to-day. The police asked for a further remand, stating that they would not. be able to go on with the case until the Government bacteorologist’s report was to hand. Mr Stevenson, for the defence, said the application was .rather indefinite. In the Cooper case the report took two months to obtain. The police should not wait until a. considerable time elapses before going on with the case. The only light the bacteriologist’s evidence could throw was whether certain blood stains were human blood or other blood. Chief Detective Kemp said he hoped the report would be ready in a fortnight.’ The Magistrate adjourned the case for a week.
