RUGBY UNION EXECUTIVE. Paw pmass Association. WELLINGTON. April. 14. At} the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union Executive to-night Messrs Dean and Wylie were appointed a deputation to wait upon the authorities to ask that a hall holiday be granted to Civil Servants on the date of the v. South possible v. probable match, in Wellington. It was decided that the Maori match played in Auckland last Monday for Te Mori Rose Bowl should be treated as a trial match for All Black selection.
An invitation was received by the New Zealand Rugby Union last night from the International Rugby Board, to send representatives to a conference on Rugby matters, such conference to be held in London and to be attended by direct representatives of general colonial unions. The request was made that the board should be furnished before October next with particulars of any subjects which they wished to discuss. December next was suggested as the date for the conferIt was decided that tho letter be received. It was suggested that a sub-committee be appointed to consider remits received from the various unions and to frame a report for the committee. Mr E. A. Little said that this report should be ready as soon as possible so that it might be circulated*. The chairman, Mr S. Dean, said that thfey should certainly see that they were represented at the conference, which was on© of the things they had been pressing for for years. She dates for the closing of the remits might be made in June, which would allow time for them to be circulated among the unions. Tt. was agreed that the invitation to the conference be accepted, the. date being December next, and that it should b© suggested that th © agenda paper should be prepared for circulatiou not later than August 1. It was further resolved that New South Wales and South Africa should be communicated with. asking them to have their remits sent Home by August Ip, and that, copies of their remits be forwarded to the New Zealand Union. A .special committee consisting of Messrs W. Hornig. Wylie and T. A. Fletcher was appointed to consider the remits sent in by the various New Zealand unions and to prepare a report on them.
