Mr, Mrs and Misp DavU-Huot, Christchurch; are visiting Timaru. Miss Tris Gray (Wellington) is the guest of Mrs L. J. Lewis. St Albans. Miss Phyllis Plimmer was a passenger from the north this morning. Mrs M’Brearty left this morning for the south.

Mrs Rutherford has returned to her home in Macdonald Downs. Dr and Mrs Gerald Russell, who have been visiting Auckland, will return to Christchurch to*day.

Mrs G F Lomas, who was the guest of Mrs M. Broun, Webb Street, has returned to Wanganui.

Dr and Mrs S. M. Purchas. of New South Wales, have arrived on a visit to New Zealand.

Miss Cowlishaw and Miss Mary Cowlishaw have returned from a holiday spent at Rakaia huts.

The usual Saturday night dance will he held this evening at the St Asaph Street Flail.

Miss Nash. Geelong, returned from Mount Cook on Wednesday and left the same day for Christchur^li.

Miss Maude Tv Lancaster, who has been in Christchurch for several days, has returned to North Canterbury. Mr and Mrs Hugh Ensor and family were passengers for the West Coast this morning.

A special leap tear dance will be held on Monday at the Sydenham Football Hall by the Christchurch Plain Dance Assembly.

Miss Audrey Cracroft Wilson, who has been spending the last two weeks at Rakaia huts, has returned to Christehijrch.

Mr apd Mrs Engar Jones and the Misses Edgar-Jones motored back to Timaru yesterday after a few weeks spent at The Hermitage.

Mrs Smellie (Dunedin) and Miss Alien (Dunedin) were passengers this morning for Akaroa from Christchurch.

Mr and Mrs T. Hannan and family, who were in Christchurch for several days, left for the West- Coast this morning.

Miss T). Davis and Miss Mills, of Takapuna. Auckland, have just re turned from the Milford trip. and. are spending a few days with Mrs G. H Christie in Christchurch before returning north.

Mrs H. Riley, Misses M. and R. Arnett (Dunedin). Mrs Lilly (Cooper’s Creek). Mr and Mrs B. Hill (Petone) are among the recent arrivals at the Clarendon Hotel.

Mr and Mrs Charles Maddren (Christchurch), accompanied by their daughters, the Misses Thelma and Kura Maddren, have returned home again, after a tour of the West Coast

A morning tea party was held at Ballantyne’s yesterday, the occasion being a farewell to Mrs Frank Rutherford. given by the committee of the Sunbeam Kindergarten. Mrs Evans, who organised the party, thanked Mrs Rutherford for the work she had done for the Kindergarten and wished her every success in her future home. Among those present were Mrs Evans, Mrs Frank Rutherford, Mrs F. A‘Court, Mrs Cyril Stringer. Mrs Batchelor. Mrs J. Guthrie, Mrs H. Wauchop, Mrs Fred. Freeman, Mrs M. S. Broun and Mrs Reading.
