HORSEMAN'S DARING JUMP.

Alfred Bellman was leading a young horse at Murwiliumbah when the horse bolted. The rope become entangled round the ankles of Bellman, who was dragged along the ground towards a bridge.. Visualising the danger if the horse reached the bridge, Basil Conaghart rode after the runaway, jumped on its back from his own horse, and, grabbing him by the nose, brought the animal to a standstill. Bellman was taken to the hospital in a serious condition.
