Tbe Victorian amateur Athletic ‘Association baa declined tq send a team for the Australasian Championships meeting at Hobart, as a protest against Mr R. Coombes (Sydney), president of the Australian and New Zealand Athletic Union, being: appointed referee, 'lffie Tasmanian Association has notified Victoria that tbe State holding: the carnival is entitled to appoint officials, and that t intends to udhere to tho appointment of Mr Coombes at any cost.
