ST PATRICK’S SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of members of the 8t Patrick’s Sports Association, will be held in the Hibernian Hail, Barbadoes Btreet, on Tuesday. January 15Ttae annual report states: 7%e member ship of the association continues to increase. and the coming season should ba record one. Thanks are due to the number of keen sports who accepted office as vice-presidents in tbe past, and also for their denations. The financial statement shows that receipts were £995 14s Id. and the expenditure £961 2s sd. leaving a credit be lance of £44 11s Sd to start the present- season with. Tn all branches of athletics, large entries were received, says the report. an 3 some fine racing has been the result. 'Hie primary and secondary schools' events were all well contested, and keen rivalry wae witnessed between the various schools. In the profesional running some fine work was witnesed. and the public treated tn some brilliant finishes. Cycling has one® again come into its own. and the interest taken in this branch of sport, by the public). has been very gratifying. The a.xsocia.tion looks bock with gratification on its foundation, not from a standpoint of selfishness, but from the knowledge that the aims and objects of its eatabllshmen* —the revival and uplifting of athleticism has been realised. Thanks are given to the public generally, for the generous support accorded, and Ihe wish is expressed for a continuance of the past hear?r patronage. The association is unstinted in its praise of the Press, and the assistance given the association.
