CHRISTMAS COLDS—IN THREE SNEEZES.
When mother gets a cold she is as * patient as can be, ' She’ll sit just like a statu© with her 1 _ knitting on her knee; You 11 hear her give a stifled sneeze ’ if she should drop a stitch, ‘ That’s natural, and what we call an itching in the snitch. 1 When pa comes home he bellows out, 1 i“ Hullo! What’s up, old dear? You’ve got a cold? What nonsense, ' now then, just you listen here; You get a Spanish onion boiled, and 1 take it lat© at mgnt, [ No doctors then will you require—- * you'll find that you’re all right!” When mother gets a cold. 5 When Gladys gets a cold it is a fancy sort of thing, She simply lias the household on a t little bit of string; » Neat parcels come by every post with 1 chocolates galore. ; And “ magic cures ” in bottles are arranged along the floor. ; Of course, she tells her sweetheart and - he’s on the mat at. seven. It’s love and eucalyptus then till just r upon eleven : » And if you tell the silly ass he's bound ) to catch the “ flu," i He says “ her cold’s a perfect dream,' 5 t and wants to have on© too. 5 When Gladys gets a cold. When father gets a cold then all our t home is upside down. He’ll send for every doctor that is ? known about the town -, ] He'll ask the local chemist chap for 1 s everything he’s got. 3 And sends for “Old Jamaica Rum” ! and gulps it- boiling hot. 1 ! He puts his feet in mustard and he , Of course lie blames poor mother if he don’t get any rest, She'll afek him how he got it, then j he’ll savagely assert ] It's all her fault and just because r she didn’t air his shirt. v When father gets a cold, i -Fred.
