MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The quarterly meeting of the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge. M.U.1.0.0.1.. was held on Holiday evening last in the M.U. Hall. St Asaph Street. >i.G. Bro Sharp presiding over a fair attendance of members. The principal business was the distribution of surplus capital amounting ,to £5539, as follow£ll6-2 to the Bistriet Benefit Fund. £47 to Deficiency Lodges, £65 to War Members’ Belief Fund, £l7l to United Westland Belief Fund, and the balance to be added to members, funeral benefit. £8 per member, plus 4 per cent per annum. A tender tor an addition to tho hail property was accepted. The election of officers resulted as follow: —N.G.. Bro O. Boucher; V.G., Bro A. W. B. Healey; E.S.. Bro T. Wood; A.S., Bro S. J. Brooker; auditors, Bro T. Wood and Bro R. G. Moore. The G.M. of tho society. Bro W. R. Gahagan, paid a brief visit to the lodge and congratulated it on the generosity displayed by the lodge in giving portion of the lodge surplus to deserving objects. It was' decided to call a summons meeting by advertisement to elect- nr* additional medical officer. Sick pay to the amount of £47 7s lid was passed for pay-
