SYDENHAM CLUB. Tbe first races of the season in conned* tion with the Sydenham Amateur Swimming Club drew a good entry and in the junior and schoolboy events the .contestants showed considerable promise. The prizes given were presented by the president of the club. The results ‘were as fcl» Schoolboys' handicap, 50yds. first heat— E. Main (scr) 1. A. H. K. Turner (lsec) 2, J. Lyons (scr) 3; second heat—J. Hattereley (scr) L. O. Hattersley (6sec) 2, L. Hatchard (4sec) 3; final—Main 1. Hatchard 2. Turner 3. Junior members' handicap, 50yds—A. H. K. Turner (Ssec) 1. J. Howie on (scr) 2, J. I.yons (ssec) 3. In the first distance for the Jones Cup. over 25yds, tho results were: First heat—J. A. Gasson (2sec) 1. J. Howison (lsec) and A. P. Fabian (scr) dead heat: second heat—H. Fabian (2sec) 1. L. Terrell (scr) 2, L. W. Gill (scr) 3; final—Gasson 1, A. D. Fabian. 2, Terrell 3, J. Howison 4.
