MR BALDWIN UNDECIDED.

GENERAL OPPOSITION TQ COALITION. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.—Sydney "Sun'’ Cable. (Received December 10, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON. December 9. Viscount Younger (chairman of the Unionist Party organisation), on leaving Mr Baldwin, told Press interviewers that he did not know if Mr Baldwin would resign. Mr Baldwin would meet Cabinet on Monday or Tuesday and would see the King afterwards. The situation was most interesting. The women voters had wrecked the Government. They were frightened by gross misrepresentation regarding dear food. “Our party has come back too strong to decline responsibility. but not big enough to do anything effective,” continued Viscount Younger. “I do not see that wc can go into Opposition. We may carry on with the benevolent support of another party. We certainly do not want another coalition with the Liberals; our people would not consent.” Viscouxt Younger added that, personallv, he would prefer to be in the Opposition and see what the “ other fellows ” would do. Mr Egerton Wake, Labour’s chief agent, states that there IS a strong feeling among the rank and file against joining hands with the Liberals. One reason is the way that the Liberals .mined the Conservatives in some constituencies in order to keen out Labourites. I Mr Will Thorne M.P., said: “ A Coalition with the Liberals h» e t. a a a K' ™ stak f> Mr Lloyd George had not said hat he had about us. We do not think that a single old or new member would favour a Liberal-Labour coalition.”
