SPORTS AT ENGUSH PARK. » Tho Now Zealand Athletic und Cycling Union (Nortu Canterbury Centre) held a sports meeting this att-ernoon at English Park for tho purpose of raieuig funds lor tne improvement of the park. The weather wus beautifully fine, and a large numher of sports enhtusiasxs gathered to witness the events, which were got off promptly and in regular order. There was a strong easterly wind, which made the going on the corners rather dififcult, for the cyclists, but some good times were put up. jg.
