SWIMMING.
BECKENHAM CLUB. A general meeting of the Beckonliam Amateur Swimming Club wan held recently, -Mr T Q. ( arlißle presiding over an attendance of sixty members. Tt, was decided to affiliate with the Royal Life having Society. Mr T. F. Cummings was e-.ected an extra delegate?, to the Canterbury centre. Cups for competition were donated by Messrs F. C. Andrews and F. J Dann. The ladies' branch of tb© club has enrolled fifty new members, whilo the men’s club has increased by over seventy. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUB. The Christchurch Ladies' Amateur Swimming Club held the second distance 50vd« for the Brown Cup last, evening, which suited as follow*Fii>t heat—L. Borrell l, L. Terris 2, M King 3. Second heat— R. M’Grath 1, D. Boi-rell 2. E. Terria 3 Final —K. M’Grath 1, L. Borrell •>, It. Borreli An open diving competition was also held, the winner being I>. Borrell 1J points, with M. Breward and It. M’Grath equal 2. 13 points, and L. Terris and L. Borrell equal 3 with 12 points.
