WHEN FORTY-FIVE LOOKS TWENTY-EIGHT.

HOW TO KEEP YOUNG. It may seem impossible to the woman who is not versed in the art of prolonging youth, that when she is fortyfive she can still look only twentyeight. If a woman, however, will only take tho trouble to keep her figure supple by exercise, her complexion clear by careful diet, and the wrinkles from forming too deeply by a little light massage or a course of electricity, and will not forget to attend to her hands and keep her mind young by always being up to date mentally, there is no reason why. though her actual age be forty-five, she should appear more that* twenty-eight. The mistake so many women make w to concentrate, only on removing lines and wrinkles from the face, forgetting that the figure, the walk, the hands, and tho outlook on life reveal a woman’s age far more than a few wrinkles or lines, which may be the result of a highly strung nervous organisation, or of that much too prevalent complaint insomnia. The woman who would look years younger than she really is must remember that from eight to ten hours’ sleep every night is essential. Whether those hours are taken early or late does not usually matter, so long as they are consecutive and spent in a well-ventilated and darkened room. She should always endeavour to relax every muscle before settling for the night sleep, so as to obtain complete rest and rejuvenation. This is the reason a little facial massage when the night toilet is made is of so much more benefit than at any other time, for the massage relaxes the tired muscles of the face, and so prevents any wrinkles and lines which may have formed during the day from becoming deeper by remaining in tlie face during the night. CLEANSING THE COMPLEXION. She should also be careful to cleanse the face of any complexion powder or day cream which may have been used, for to leave either of these on the face at night is to court the formation of wrinkles.
