TO DEVELOP THE INSTEP.
The new lo wsquare heels, now found on fashionable footwear, are not as becoming as the high Louis heels which have hitherto been in vogue, especially to the woman who does not possess a high instep. A well-arched foot is one of Nature’s special gifts, given to only a few women, but exercise will do a great deal towards improving the shape of the flattest foot. WALK ON THE TOES. To improve the arch of the foot it is necessary to develop tlic muscles, and to do this it is recommended to walk on the toes—not on the extreme tip of the toes, like a ballet dancer, but by placing all the toes of each foot in such a position that the foot is almost upright. This exercise reI peated for five to ten minutes two or three times a day will do much to improve the beauty of the foot.
