LESS WIND, MORE SUN COURTENAY HANDICAP AND FREE-FOR-ALL. 'The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting was continued at Addington to-day in improved weather conditions. The sun shone brightly from early morning. and the light breeze was greatly appreciated after the gait 4 which had ruled earlier in the week. There was a large attendance. Fairton led Dillon S.. Okuti and Mushroom for five furlongs, when Okuti joined Fairton in the lead. Starting on the last lap Okuti was in front, with Fairton, Welcome Beta and peter the First next, while Mat Patch was moving up fast. Mat Patch joined Okuti half a mile from home and a little further on he was out. in front. Mat Patch led into Ihe straight and won by two lengths from Peter the First, who beat Okuti by two lengths. Tommy Direct turned for homo well alear of Rorkes Drift, Glen Mavis a.pd Phil Smith, and won by two lengths from Rorke’s Drift, with J.ear Dillon finishing fast two lengths away, and The Rook fourth. M'Lennan) b Stockade failed to go off at the start. Star Queen and Dixie Mac led Wild Thyme for two furlongs when Dixie Mac lost her place. Star Queen goingon from Wild Thyme with Loganwood next. These three were still in front passing the stand where Adair was close up with Grand Denver improving his position. There was very little change at the mile post and startingon the last lap-Star Queen, Wild Thyme, Loganwood and Adair were in a bunch, with Paul Dufault, Grand Denver. Tatsy Dillon and Albert Cling not far Wild Thyme joined Star Queen in the lead half a mile from home and a little further on Star Queen dropped back, Wild Thyme showing- the wayround the turn to Paul Dufault and Loganwood. Taraire then put in a fast run and at the entrance to the straight he was just behind AVi Id Thyme and Paul Dufault. Wild Thyme held his lead in the run home and beat Paul : Dufault by two lengths, Taraire being 1 two lengths further back, followed byAlbert Cling, Star Queen and Loganwood. Passing the stand the order was still the same, with Fashion Queen and Ahuriri closing up. After going six furlongs Locanda Mac was two lengths in front of Oratorio and lrvar. Passing the mile post Oratorio ran up to Locanda [ Mac, but lie broke when starting on the last, lap, and never settled down again. I This left Locanda .Mac with a good lead from Coldwater, Ahuriri ar.rl lrvar. For the rei-t of the journey Locanda Mac was never troubled, anti won. easing up. by three leugthß from Coldwater, with lrvar six lengths away and Ahuriri fourth. !
