BIG THEFT CHARGE.
LATER RESULTS IN STOP PRESS
ACCUSED REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. Pkr Press Association. PA LMEKSTON X., November 6. At the Supreme Court. Pic-hard Benjamin Knight was charged with (I). that at Fcilding he did steal 345 ewes valued at £450. the property of Joseph Milton Bennett; (2) with having received £'4oß 19s 8d on terms requiring him to pay the same to Bennett, and that lie fraudelently omitted to do so; (3) with having received security for a cheque for £’537 10s on terms requiring him to account to Bennett for £4OB 19s 6d thereof, and that lie fraudentl.v omitted to do so. Accused pleaded not. guilty on the fimt two counts and guilty on tho third. Mr Cooke, for the Crown, accepted the plea, of guilty on the third count, and the attendant sentence in satisfaction of all three charges. His Honor agreed to this course, accuser! being remanded for sentence.
