SUDDEN DEATH ON CRICKET GROUND. Pfr Press Association. DUNEDIN.. November 5. Robert Jack died suddenly while playing cricket at Port Chalmers on Saturday afternoon. He was wicket--1 Keeping, and while walking over between the wickets he fell down dead. I'he indications pointed to heart failure. Decreased was chief engineer at the Harbour Board docks aud was previously an engineer on the t-ugi. He was fifty years of age and leaves a widow and three sons. EXPLOSION IN MATCH FACTORY’. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, November 5. Herbert Smith and Daniel Dunn, noth aged fifteen, were admitted to tht nospital suffering severe injuries to the eyes caused through an explosion at a match factory at Caversham, where they were employed. SINGLE MAN'S SUICIDE Per Fresß Association. AUCKLAND. November 5. The body of AVilliam Austin, a single man. aged 28, who bad been employed as a labourer, was found hanging to a tree at Silverdale. At the inquest, a- verdict was returned that Austin had committed suicide while in a state of mental depression.
