OFFICERS HONOURED.
INVESTITURE BY GOVERNOR-GENERAL. ! An investiture was 'held by, bis Excellency the Governor-General in the Provincial Council Chamber this -'morning. His Excellency was accompanied by Commander J. Dove and Captain .V. R, AY. Curtis: Amongst those present were relatives of the officers honoured, and Brigadier-Gen-eral A. AW Andrew, Colonel R. Young, Officer Commanding the Southern District, and the Hon G. J. Smith, ALL C. His Excellency presented to Brigadier-General AY. A.lcldrum. C. 8., C.M.G.. D. 5.0., Stipendiary Magistrate, Greymouth district, his insignia as Companion of the Most Distinguished Service Order. “ 1 need hardly say what great pleasure it gives me to confer this decoration, at the command of his Majesty, on such a distinguished officer as General Alcldrum." his Excellency said. At the. same time, his Excellency presented to Captain F. C. Roberts, of Sumner, late ol the Bhopal Infantry. Indian Army, the Military Cross awarded to him bv his Majesty, and handed to Major's. AA*. R. Brooker. M.C.. of Christchurch, his Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.
