WRITING COMPETITION.
FOR THIRD STANDARD. The . fourth writing competition pro nioted by the " Star" is for Third Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. The competitors are requested to write the following verse on ordinary writing or exercise book, paper :- - There -was a jolly miller once Lived on the river Dee; lie worked and sang from morn till night No lark more blithe than he. Competitors should mark their er. tries “ Writing competition/’ and send them to the Editor of the " Sta’ - ' Entries must be received by November 10. a he present competition is open to all Third Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. Prizes will be 10s, os and 2s 6d.
