SKULL FOUND IN CALIFORNIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 29, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 27Thc scientists engaged in excavations at Santa Barbara, California, are convinced that the skulls of the men uncovered there are of greater age tharfl the Neanderthal man of Central Europe. Dr J. Harrington, of the Smith, soman Institution, states that he is certain that a new link in the anthro po-10-gical chain has been definitely established. The tools and implements which were rlso found are greatly in advance of these supposed to have been employed by the neanderthal man. The distance between the distended jaws of the Santa Barbara skull is seven inches.
