HEENEY DEFEATS SAVAGE. Pbr Prkss Association. NAPIER, October 28. A professional boxing contest on Saturday night between Jim Savage (Wanganui) and Tom Heeney (Gisborne) lasted two and a half minutes. Savage early inflicted an injury to his opponent’s eye, but Heeney very soon sent Savage down for two seconds and immediately landed left and right. Savage took the count for* three. Savage staggered across the ring, and Heeney expected the towel to be thrown in., hut ori the referee's “ box on ” he went in and lauded a solid right and left, which ended the contest.
