ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
INJURED BY A HORSE. When engaged shoeing a horse at Mr J- Skilling's smithy at Rangiora this morning. Arthur Greeks had his left ankle fractured and dislocated through the animal standing on hi« foot. He was taken to “ Brocklehurst ” Private Hospital, where Dr Allen attended to his injuries.
POISONED BY GAS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND EAST. October 29. The body of James Alexander Oampl>ell. a retired master mariner, -who ha* been missing since October 18. was found in a workshop under his house at Takutai Street, Parnell. Beside it was a gas tube which had been let down from the gas jet in his bedroom beside a wardrobe and through a hole bored in the floor in such t manner as to escape notice until a careful search was made. After Kis disappearance. a search throughout the city was made. The searchers stood within a few feet of his bodv without noticing it. He resided with his sister, who was his orly reintire in New Zealand.
