The dangerous practice of jumping of trams whilst in motion was exemplified when two youths came before the Magistrate this morning charged with'; hoarding a car whilst in motion. Both pleaded guilty. The senior-sergeant stated that this practice was becoming all too common and only recently there had been a serious accident, the victim of which was still in hospital. Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M., read tho two lads a lecture upon the danger thev ran and said to impress this upon them as much as he could he would fine them 5s and costs Bs. Ho observed also that if they had been older he would have inflicted a. much severer punishment.
