HER MOTHER’S WILL.
DAUGHTER’S APPUCATION GRANTED. Alexandrina Bruce, in th© Supreme Court to-day, applied under the Family Protection Act for furthei provision under the will of her mother, Catherine Bruce, Ashburton. The defendants were James Bruce, trustee under the will, and others. The trustee acknowledged that Miss Bruce should have a larger share of the estate than was given her under "the will, and it was proposed by the trustee and by beneficiaries that she ■ should be given an income from the j estate for life as long as she remained | single. Mr F. S. Wilding apjieared for i plaintiff, and Mr J. H. LTpliant for defendants Mr Wilding said that the ©state was divided equally amongst the seven beneficiaries. The income from it was only £1 10s or £2 a week- Tt was \ asked that, as Miss Bruce had incurred j debts, she should be given more than I her share. Mr Upha-m opposed giving Miss Bruce any sum from the capital. Her share of the capital, he said, was about £2OO. His Honor Mr Justice Sim made an order directing tho trustee to pay Miss Bruce the income of the estate during her life, as long as she remained single, also £65 out of her share of the capital. He allowed costs, £ls 15s and disbursements,** to plaintiff, and the same sum to defendants.
