CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Air Wjvern Wilson, S.M-) DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders were each fined os or twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. Henry M’Causland, a young man, was charged with having* been found drunk on the Addington Railway Station, and further with casting offensive matter in a railway carriage. He admitted having been drunk but said he did not know anything about the other charge. On the charge of drunkennem ha was fined 10s or forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. and on the second charge he was fined 4Qs. or three day*’ imprisonment. BY-LAW CASES. For cycling at night without light*, Peter! Bennett, Richard Brady, Keith Browih, John Stephen Corns, Walter B. Harris. Reginald James Lynch, Hugh M’Kenzie. Reginald A. Nicholas, Arthur John Youngman and Rowse were each fined 20s and costsOn similar charges. Albert Fuller was ordered to pay costs 7s and Robert L. Powell was fined 10s and costs. William Thiele, for driving a motorcar without headlights, was fined 20* and costs. For having no certificate of ability Jessie Chrystal, Michael Cook and Duncan Stewart were each fined 20s raid costs and Alexander Lawrence was fined 40s and costs. F. G. Edwards was ordered to pay costs 7s. p harles Dunnage was fined 5a and costs for leaving a motor car unattended. Thomas Johnston was fined 5s for leaving a motor-car and for having no certificate of ability, 40* and costs. \ On charges of speeding Henry W. Clarke, Ernest Kay and R Loveday, were each fined -10 s and costs. S. Richardson, for leaving a motorcar unattended at the Triangle, High Street, was fined os and costs. A. Hunter, for using an unregistered motor cycle was fined IDs and costs. For pillion riding A. Henshall was fine os and costs. BROTHERS AT VARIANCE. Further evidence was heard in regard to an application by Alfred Langle Philip Gibbons. 47. Sandyford Street, Sydenham, licensed carrier, that his younger brother, Robert William Patrick Gibbens, Hutchison Street. Sylenhain. coal yard worker, should be required to find sureties that he would keep the peace towards the complainant. Mr G. A. G. Connal appeared for the complainant and Mr R. H. Livingstone for the defendant. The Magistrate, in giving his decision. said the two brothers had had their opportunity of saying wbat they wanted to say about each other, they had had their fight, and there was cne thing more ho proposed to ask them to do. That was for each man to pay his own solicitor’s costs. The information would be dismissed.
