DANGER OF FLOODING MARKETS.
WHEN RUHR STEEL IS RELEASED. FRANCE WATCHING. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Times " Service. (Received October 26, 8.50 a.m.) LONDON, October 25. The Paris Correspondent of the “ Times ” says that it is understood that the French Government has informed the British Government that it is taking precautions against a sudden throwing of the Ruhr manufactured and unmanufactured steel on the world’s markets. This does not represent a new decision. For months, the dangers of dumping when normal conditions of trade with the Ruhr returned have been seen. There have been, say the French, no threats hanging over Britain or other countries of the sudden release of the R.uhr productions. It is not a matter of protecting Britain specially. The principle applies all round. France herself is aware of the damage to her industries if measures are not taken to prevent the flooding of between two and three million tons of R.ubr steel which is said to be under French control.
