SMITH—JONES. A wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne, recently, when Alice Racy, second daughter of Chief Judge and Airs R. N. Jones was married to Air William Charles Smith, son of Air and Airs C. Smith, of Templeton. Canon Packe performed the ceremony, j The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock ! of pale shell-pink satin with ribbons to I match, and with prettv silver rosettes, i An embroidered veil of Brussels net was i worn in addition to a net shell-pink j coronet and orange blossom. The ■ bride’s bouquet was composed of pale ; pink rose buds and Japanese cherry j blossoms tied with long silk ribbons of j the same shade as the frock. The maid jof honour, Aliss Joyce Jones, was l frocked in pastel crepe de chine, beaded j in black, and wore a smart black hat. | She carried a bouquet of cream aquilegias nnd blue hyacinths. The four I bridesmaids, Alisses Raey Edwards, Muriel Jones. Bunty Parker and Eileen Harper, wore frocks of pink taffetas trimmed with blue forget-me-not and pink ribbon rosettes, and carried posies of forget-me-nots. Air Alfred P. Alorgan carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony in the church the bride's parents entertained a large number of guests at their residence in Stout Street. On Wednesday afternoon, a prettv wedding took place at St John’s, Latimer Square, when Aliss Doreen Cook, younger daughter of Mr and Airs Frank A. Cook, was married to Air 1/eslie B. Foster, second son of Air and Mrs AV. H. L- Foster, of Wellington. The Rev Nelson AVright officiated. and the church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty gown of amber brocaded satin, finished at the waist with a trail of orange blossoms and gold leaves, and gold shoes and stockings, her veil being of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley ami yellow tulips. Her only bridesmaid was her cousin, Aliss Rita Stewart, who wore a sunset

satin frock with a girdle of multicoloured flowers and a hat of gold tissue. Her bouquet was of tulips and wallflowers. The best man was Air C. AV. Grubb, of Wellington.
