(From Our Correspovdext.) GI? EVM O UTH, October 20. BOXING. A meeting of the Greymouth Boxing Association was held last evening. Mr G. K. Perkins presiding. After some discussion it was decided to appoint Messrs A. Behan and Perkins to represent the Greymouth Boxing Association at the conference of the New Zealand associations, to he held at Wellington on October 30- The conference will discuss boxing matters generally with a view to putting the sport on a proper footing and ending tne present antagonism existing lietween the council and some of the leading associations. The two local representatives are well versed in matters pertaining to the noble art. and their presence at the conference is bound to lead to some useful suggestions. At last evening’s meeting of the local association the secretary reported that Air Page, the referee »t last Saturday’s contest, declined to accept any expenses in connection with his visit to the Coast. Several members spoke in complimentary terms of Mr Page’s capabilities as a referee, and decided that he he accorded a special vote of thanks for his generous consideration. It was also unanimously decided that a small presentation he made to Mrs Page. The association has decided to match Tom in v Fairhall with either A- Bradley.
