CURES REPORTED

FROM HICKSON MISSION. (Special to the “ Star.") WANGANUI. October 25. A number of patients have returned from the Hickson Mission and several more of the Wanganui quota are still in Palmerston. Among the cures reported is that of Mr F. Berry, a well-known Gonviile storekeeper, who had been suffering from pains in tho legs, distorted fingers and. a shrunken arm for two years. He underwent three operations. Tho morning after attending the Mission, M r Berry states, his arm became normal and his fingers straight-. Tho pains disappeared in his legs. His I arm was three inches short and is now the proper length. Mr J. Barnes, employed in a. local cycle works, suffered from a. stiff ankle joint, as the result of the ’flu in 1921. He can now walk freely. Mrs B. Price, of 801 l Street, who had not walked for fourteen j-ears, took a few steps from her chair after leaving the church and was able toWalk about the room yesterday, and is very hopeful of ultimate cure. The parents of another/ girl in Bell Street who suffered from infantile paralysis, state that tlieir daughter is completely cured. There is tho case of Olga Lind, the daughter of Mr Frank Lind, of Wanganui East. The little sufferer, who is between ton and twelve years of age, lias for several years been afflicted with infantile paralysis and lias been unable to walk or move about without assistance. During the period of her affliction, she has been wheeled in a chair into which relatives or friends placed her. She was carred into the church and after tho laying on of hands, walked without assistance. In ! tho rest room, she moved about freely and conversed with her friends. Mrs Cameron, of Carlton Avenue, who was carried out of hospital, is nowable to sit up and shows a marked improvement. A rmmber of other partial cures have been rumoured, but are not verified. There are others here who state that they hare, so far, not received any benefit.
