WRITING COMPETITION.
FOR FOURTH STANDARD. The third writing competition promoted by the “ Star ” is for Fourth Standard pupils iu Canterbury and Westland schools. The competitors are x'quested to writ© the following verse on ordinary writing or exercise book How happy is he. born and taught., That serveth not another's will ; Whose armour is hi= honest thought. And simple truth his utmost skill; Competitors should mark their entries “ Writing competition,” and send them to the Editor of the “ Star.” Entries must be received by OctoThe present competition is open to all Fourth Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. Prizes will he. 10s. ss, and 2s 6d. The assistance of teachers wilL be appreciated in these competitions.
