As the immortal detective, John Barrvmorc. has found a role worthy to lank with his dual part in “ Dr Tekyll and Mr Hyde,” and his characterisation is said to be just as vivid and compelling as in the Stevenson story. The screen Sherlock Holmes ” is an adaptation of the stage play which William Gile.tte made, from the A. Conan Doyle stories and which he used as o starring vehicle for so many years. The cast supporting Mr Barrymore is one of the most, brilliant seen in any Goldwyn picture Tt includes Gustave von Seyifertit-z as Mcriarty. the big power behind the criminal elements of London ; Roland Young as Dr Watson ; Carol Dempster as Alice Faulkner; and a host of others well known on, stage and screen— notably Heddn Hopper.
