GERMANY’S INTERNAL TROUBLES.
STRIKES AND FOOD RIOTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Reuter's Telegrams. (Received October 24, 1.0 p.m.) BERLIN, October 23. Reports state that economic turmoil is increasing Dr Stresemann’s troublesStrikes have already broken out in the shipyards at Hamburg and among the coal miners in Central Germany for increased wages. The Berlin workers have jointly threatened to strike within three days, failing introduction of a scheme ior payment in stable currency. A telegram from Essen states that the Thyssen works have closed down owing to financial difficulties, idling 13.000 bands. All the bakeries in the capital have been looted. The Government has prohibited the disnlay of the Red Flag. Herr Kanita. a member of the Reichstag, has been appointed Minister of Food. The Nationalists demand thfc resignation of Cabinet.
