STUDENTS INSIST.

MR ASQUITH A CAPTIVE. VISIT TO UNIVERSITY. By Telegraph—Press A^otfiatipn—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 24, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, October 23. As a reminder to Mr Asquith that he should have included a visit to the University in his programme during his visit to Liverpool, a party of students surrounded his motor-car as he left his hosts’ residence this morning and insisted on the chaffeur driving to the University, where large crowds of students of both sexes vociferously cheered the captive. Mr Asquith accepted the situation good-humouredly. He entered the hall and delivered a Brief speech, which was received enthusically. He was then allowed to attend a luncheon at the Reform Club.
