SAILING AND POWER BOAT CLUB.
A trial zpce was held by the Christchurch Sailing aud Power Boat Club a-t Eedcliffa last Saturday for boats of B an i C classes, which resulted in keen competition for those ready to start. Tho Ariti, which always does well in light, winds, maintained the lead throughout, but lo.© on handicap, which allowed Seamew to win, with Seapup a good second and Ariti third. The Gazelle made its appearance at Redcliffs last Saturday, and shows great pro mise. while the Warau made its initial j*un of the season during the week-end. The Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club wj.ll open it® season next Sattirday, and a programme of power and yacht races has been arranged.
