BATTLEFIELDS TO-DAY.
GENERAL RUSSELL RETURNS Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 24. Brigadier-General Sir A. Russell, who returned from England yesterday, speaks in terms of admiration of the ■way the graves are kept in France and the excellent organisation controlled by the Rev Molineux for visiting them. »* The General was surprised to find how far advanced reconstruction was in the districts he saw. There was hardly a shell hole in view. The villages ho left as heaps of rubble are now rebuilt and the crops are growing everywhere. He said that probably not two per cent of the land remained unreclaimed.
