PARTY AT DIXIELAND.

M hat must be regarded as a record in Coin Parties was held last night, when, in response to the invitation of Lady Clifford and members of the Surprise Packet Stall at the coming St 3Jar\-'s Carnival, nearly two hundred guests assembled at Dixieland, which was kindly lent for the occasion by 3lr Dickson. So excellent were the arrangements made by Mr and 3lrs Dickson that there was not the slightest suggestion of crowding. Lady Clifford, who acted as hostess, wore a black crepe do chine gown, heavil.y embroidered with jet beads and a black morocain wrap with touches of jade green. An excellent concert programme occupied the first part of the evening. The programme was as follows: —Quartette, Misses Marv Ward (violin), V. Ward (piano). Carlton Cafe, where the tables were decorated with mauve and pink daisies, dancing was enjoyed in the ball-room, where Large’s Band supplied the music, and in the lounge, gay with masses of vari-coloured ranunculi, many bridge tables were occupied.
