The proposal to establish a radium department in connection -with the Christchurch Hospital was advanced a stage at the meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board to-day. when the Rer .1. K. Archer moved that the board should consider a proposal to raise the sum of £IO.OCX) or over for the formation of a radium department in connection with the institution. The matter has been before the board for. some time and full information is being obtained from Home concerning the benefit* of vadium. _ The board decided to give consideration to the Rev J K. Archer's proposal.
