In order to perpetuate the memory of Victor Trumper. the Paddington Municipal Council is seeking to change the name of the local cricket ground from Hampden to Trumper Park. The proposal caused much public controversy, which was ended by the Minister of Lands refusing the re* quest. The ground was called after a Governor, I>ord Hampden, and the Minister said that he did not believe in changing already well established names.
