EDGEWARE TOURNAMENT. A rink tournament was held on the Edgeware Club's greens yesterday, fourteen teams competing. The winners were a Linwood rink—Hilsden, W. Healey, Kinvig and Cooper (skip). They secured four wins out of five games, and won on the aggregate. Second place was gained by an Edgeware rink—TGordon, J. B. Borthwick, C. W. Colville and P. Jj. Davis (skip), with the next best. aggregate for four wins. Rinks skipped by H. .1. West (Edgeware) and Talbot (Opawa) also secured four wins each. UNITED CLUB. Progressive doubles were played on the United Club's greens yesterday. Seven pairs entered. The lead's prize was won by T. J. Bettle, and the skip's prize by L. Lewer. CANTERBURY CLUB. Progressive doubles were played yesterday, thirty-two players taking part. The green was in good order and the play was keenly contested, as the following scores will show. For the skips Page secured 41 wing, Angus 4. llaworth 4, Taylor 4, Cox 3s, Westall 3 and Maynard 3, and for the leads Nicholls 4. Hoggan 4, A. Smith 4, M'Namava 3i, Anchman 3£, M'Dufl 3 and Whitford 3. The prize winners were Page skip and Nicholls lead, the latter having the highest average for the first two games. ASHBURTON V. TIMARU. The annual Labour Day bowling fixture between the Ashburton and Tmiaru bowling clubs was conducted on the Ashburton Club's green yesterday morning.
